I'm just curious because this place is like a ghost town. Just wondering what phone people are going to. I just paid good money for another new E70 even though it's now out of warranty since they haven't made them in over a year now. I love the design of the E70 and it works perfect for me so I'm curious what others have gone to and why.
What phone have you all gone to??

I personally moved form an E61 to an E90 in November. The E61 was, and still is, a great phone and I would surely recommend it for those who like this form factor.
But after more than a year using it, i got gradually frustrated by little "details" here and there.
The decent web browser, wifi connectivity and relatively large landscape screen got me started doing some serious web browsing on my phone. But while the first few weeks were great, I quickly got tired of having to constantly scroll left and right. A large QVGA screen such as on the E61 is large enough to entice you to try browsing on your phone but once you've started and are hooked, it becomes too small for your needs.
I also used Google Maps and Map24 a lot on the E61 to find my way in cities I didn't know. Again, it was fantastic at the beginning but I quickly got frustrated by the lack of built-in GPS. You always have to find a street name and look for it on the map before you can use the map to find your way out. And you obviously can't use it as a sat-nav system in your car. Getting a standalone GPS was obviously out of question (I've got enough stuff that I have to remember to charge and bring with me all the time not to add yet another gadget).
There also were quite a few minor but irritating annoyances. The lack of RAM which constantly caused background applications to shut down by themselves. The numeric key shortcut bug (sorry, "feature"😉 introduced in firmware v. 2 a year ago and which has not been fixed as of today (forces you to press and hold the tiny blue key for keypad shortcuts to work in the main menu, Web, Opera Mobile and a number of other applications). The "Out of memory" error message that poped up regularly when the phone roamed on a foreign network (might only occur with certain SIM cards but really annoying when you're living at the border). Etc.
The E90 might have its own share of annoyances and limitations. But being able to browse the web full-width on such a gorgeous screen without having to scroll sideways is alone worth the upgrade. After having used the E90 for 2 months, I know that I will never be able to return using a phone with a screen less than 800 pixels wide. The built-in GPS is also a god-send, really, especially for somebody like me who likes going places but has a terrible sense of direction. Another feature I won't be able to live without anymore.
If I could afford it I would be rockin' an E90 too. :icon14:
