Is there a way to download .zip. .rar .mp3 files (from the web) onto my nokia ? And also, do you guys think that at some point we will be able to use the secondary camera as a webcam for messenger ?

The only way I know to download unrecognised file types is using Opera Mobile.
The built in browser will only download files it knows how to open and Opera mini cannot download at all.

I need to purchase Opera Mobile then. Now I only have the Mini version. Thanks for the info !

You need to register to download it, but it seems to be free.

Downloaded it and realized it's only for use with a laptop/desktop and connect your phone to it via BT. Plus it's .exe and I'm using Mac 😡

Zip files are downloadable by the default browser.

The others that you mention are not, however. As suggested, Opera Mobile is a good solution to this.

but then how do you open a rar file?

i know the n95 has built in .zip but it doesn't with rar

Won't the Zip archiver also open up a Rar file ?

Just installed Symella (P2P client) and downloaded a couple mp3s. I like it so far. Also installed a Torrent client, but haven't gotten around to test it.

Symtorrent?

It is good and is the main reason I have Opera Mobile. I can download the .torrent files with it and then drop them into Symtorrent. All without touching a PC.

I have yet to use it, I installed it but never got to try it out. So the only way to download the torrent files is with Opera ? Can't the regular nokia browser doi it ?

Read the posts before yours and you'll find that no, the default browser does not download any unrecognized file format. It will download .zip though.
