help needed : Unable to download software using E90 web browser (really weird issue)

Now here's a good challenge for someone smarter than me.

I bought my E90 about three weeks ago, put in a 6GB memory card and started to download & install plenty of apps to get it set up the way I'd like to have it.

A some strange point which I'm not exactly sure when (or what led up to it) - the browser stopped accepting downloads.

E.g. I go to any site that offers a download (.sisx, .zip, .something) - the link shows up and when I hit it the arrow changes for a fraction of a second and then just turns into the regular arrow mouse point again. No download starts.

Does anyone have any clue what on earth this might be?

My best guess is that the download manager has some issue and doesn't start up properly but I don't know how to fix that.

Software that I've installed:
- Putty
- WorldMate
- SlingPlayer
- IM+
- VNC+

and these:
- SmartMovie
- AutoProfiles
- MobileRar
- WidSets
- emTube
- Opera
- X-plore
- Microsoft Exchange support

I'm fairly sure everything worked after the first installs but I'm unsure at which point (during the second round of installs) it stopped working.

Now - another thing is that Opera doesn't work - it doesn't start up properly, just closes quickly.

Most (almost all) apps are installed on the memory card.

Thanks,
Diderich

Remove the memory card, restart the phone and check if download works. If YES then you know you installed something bad..

Michael

I removed the memory card, restarted the phone and give it a go - but unfortunately with no luck.

I have sinced popped the card back and the issue is still there.

Another observation is that *after* I have clicked on a link (that doesn't do anything) the browser also starts acting strange. I can scroll up and down *on the same page* but I can't leave the page (e.g. hit a link or go back). If I select "Back" then the pages the browser shows are just empty and I can't select them.

Now - earlier today I started the browser (it wasn't running) and I was prompted with "Would you like to interrupt/cancel the download?" (or something like that). Strange, because to my knowledge I didn't have any downloads going (it hasn't worked for a week now).

Anyone?

Last guess before a reset: delete the contents off C:\Cache - if the C drive is close to full that will disrupt a lot of operations - but then, I suspect you would be aware if that happened.

Alright, as a recent S603rd user it didn't occur to me that there (of course) would be hidden directories and files. I made these visible in x-plore and immediately found the dlmgr (download manager) directories with files. Deleted all of those both on the internal memory and sd card and - I'm back in download business.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Michael.
