yeah but arnt there any other mobile tv providers out there? all you need is a 3g access point and any mobile site could offer mobile tv at discouunted rate. A hole in the market perhaps?

We have that service in UAE .. we have to pay monthly fees about 7pounds.

and the bad thing Data Packge service has worser fees than I got in Scotland >> for 100kb you have to pay 20pounces ..

god bless UK

Yeah but any mobile site would have to have connection to each channel, and for which they would have to speak to the channels directly.

On top of which its all good having a 3g access point, but you still need to go thru your network.

You see, on Orange you pay 5 for a TV package....but you dont incur any bandwidth charges like you would do surfing the internet.

If some other random site was to do TV packages you would eat out of your Orange bandwidth and run up huge bills

I might be wrong, but that would be how i would look at it?

true. Bt there is Wi Fi and u limited data packages?

Anyone know if o2 do one?

I watched 5meg worth of Roger Ramjet on Orange the other night.

Now, it said this was free to sample. However, next morning it occured to me that the Content might have been free, but they may be charging me for the Data. Ooops.

Anyone know?

You would be correct, the content itself was free but not the data transmission over the network.

5megs. man I hope you're on a data plan!!!

i'm on orange and with their tv pakages you get 1gig per month of fair use download, works out to about 10 hours of viewing per month.

this get to me, clearly its not unlimited and 10 hours is not really that much if you really watched it!!

I agree Liam. and what is this "fair usage" crap. It's not like you could view unauthorized content as they filter it and only offer you certain things to watch, and it's not like you're going to be like "hey guys, pay me $10 and i'll let you watch (insert event here) over my phone this saturday night" because I'm sure whatever programming is on the phone is also on tv in better quality.

Oh well... all these disclaimers to cover the companies butts to make sure they never have to follow through on warranties and guarantees.
