is there a way of ejecting the n95 safely when it is connected via usb? or do you simply just pull out the cable??

Do not just pull the cable out as this may lead to damage to your memory card.

You can double click on the "safely remove hardware" icon in your task tray. See pictures below.

Then right click on the usb device you want to stop the connection to (in this case, the "usb mass storage device"

Wait until you get this message:

You will also get a similar message on your N95, click okay and wait for the USB symbol in the top right of the display (under the battery status indicator) to disapear.

This doesn't work for me, I always get this annoying message: "Data could be lost...".

same for me - even when i do the proper "safely remove hardware" procedure :\
