N95 8gb Quake

Ok I got my N95 yesterday and the first thing I did when I got home is install Quake (naturally).
I used the demo file as instructed and installed it.

I have the Quake icon in my applications folder but it does not open.

I am also having the same problem with EMtube.

My phone is vodaphone branded and i used the Nokia PC suite to transfer all files and installations.

Sorry if a simalar post has already been made but i have been searching for aaaaages and found no help.

Many thanks

You need to create a folder and name it QUAKE1 in the e: drive (memorycard) in the root folder of the phone, i know that the N05 8GB doe's not have the capabilities of a memory card but try it in the root folder of phone memory then place the ID1 Folder in there - worth a try : )

Root Folder

e:/QUAKE/ID1

:icon14:

I have done this and all installation and files have been put onto the onboard memory card, not the phone memory as instructed.

Have you installed the pips file (Symbian P.I.P.S. c-runtime library)? Also some versions of the program require the full version of the original data files.

Yes, I can confirm that Quake works perfectly on n95 8gb

Quake is a game. a very ground breaking game from many years ago.

When I try to install Doom, I get the message 'Certificate Expired'. I have tried changing the date to a year ago but this doesn't work either. I have created a file called QUAKE1 at the root of the memory card and have placed the SIS file in there - is this correct. I didn't quite understand what the ID1 file was or where to find it??

Anyone help please?

I have installed and have doom working perfect. I have followed the instructions for quake word for word. When I press the Icon there is no response... DO I need to unbrand my phone?

Jus got it working. Deleted Quake1 folder, then reinstalled the c-runtime library and the game. =] Happy days!

i downloaded the full version of quake and follwed the instructions but when i click on the qauke logo nothing happens 😞

what i done was i made folder called quake in my memory card,i then placed the ID1 files into the quake folder,i then ran the files=pips_s60_wp.sis,quake_v103_armv6_fpu.sisx,when i click on the quake logo nothing happens 😞

realy want to get the game going,i have nokia n95 8gb

Thats where you've gone wrong then. You have to create a folder called 'quake1' not 'quake'.
Then you put the ID1 FOLDER, in there, not just the files.

got it going now thanks.the thing i was doing wrong was i just copied the files in the ld1 folder

Are there any other games out like this?i heard duken nukem is?

Duke Nukem runs on C2Doom. Search for that on here or google. You will need the Duke PAK file but that is not free so if you don't have a copy of Duke Nukem, get one
