i've downloaded some jave games and they have jar and jad files. what do i do with the jad files

Personally I never use them. They seem to come with most (if not all) java games but you never really need them.

The jad files are for older phones i believe - i think they are a "Java Description File" which tells the older phones what to do with the Jar files

Although i might be wrong with my description (as i cannot cite a link to where i know this from), i would be 99% certain that you will have no need for these files with your N95 😉

I have a bunch of JAR files, the JADs for which I have long since binned. They still install and work perfectly.

wookie is right, they're just a different bundle. just like zip and rar.
infact a jar is a zip and can be extracted with winrar.

Nokias don't need the jad, Samsumgs and S-Es do

As has been mentioned a jad is just a text file that tells the phones that need it what class to run to start the game
