Ah yes. Ogg Vorbis music files and the freeware OggPlay. I've still got a soft spot for them, even if the rest of the world seems to have largely ignored the format. But never mind, because, better late than never, OggPlay for S60 3rd Edition is now fully available. Do make sure you read the notes about skins, and note that installation is a two stage process.

Link not working... (in the article)
Excellent news. And it doesn't seem to screw up the browser fonts on the N95 now.
What in the heck does "MMF" stand for? I have a Nokia 6120c and am not sure which download to get and install.
Thanks!
Pretty sure MMF stands for MultiMedia Format. Oggplay was really designed to play ogg files but the MMF version will play mp3, mp4, aac... aswell.
The new version seems to work nicely. Maybe I hadn't installed oggplay fonts last time but the new version has much nicer large text. Would still like a skin with massive fonts for changing tracks in the car etc.
Some minor display issues with the E61 [Edit: Which the nice people at Oggplay fixed within hours of this post] 😊
Still the best mp3 player around IMO.
To answer your question the MMF version has a different playback engine and can play any audio format supported by the phone, e.g. mp3, mp4 and wma in addition to the ogg, oga and flac that is all the non-MMF version will play. Once you've installed it go to the codecs page to see which audio formats your phone supports.
Unfortunately on some phones the MMF version doesn't play oggs and flacs very well. It's dreadful on my E60 so I don't use it: the non-MMF version is a much better ogg and flac player!
I really wish there wasn't two versions. For the next release I'm going to merge the two together so this source of confusion will no longer exist!
Regarding fonts, I'm pleased that the new version has fewer issues, but they have never been OggPlay's fault. Somebody with some leverage over Symbian needs to get them to fix their font and bitmap server!
epo.fm, send me an email using my sourceforge email address telling me precisely what you want and I'll make you a skin with bigger text!
EDIT: ah, wasted screen space, you've got an E61, right!?
Hi fig7,
Thank you! I'd be extremely grateful. I love my oggplayer & it'd be nice to switch tracks without taking my life in my hands. I've sent you an email.
Yep it's an E61 😉
Just for information, Fig7 has uploaded a new version (1.71b) that should look better on the E61. He's also created a couple of new skins that tweak the UI nicely, including a super large font version for use in the car.
Thank you! 😊

I have it installed and playing on a E71 but the volume controls don't work with it. Any ideas?
The same volume problem with me. On my E66 changing volume does not work. Visually it works, but real sound loudness stais the same. I tried to change gain feature, bot no success.
Volume on E71 works - but not with the Volume Keys on the right side of the device but using left-right on the Navpad.
