Mmh, since I still have an hbh-30 I tried to get it work today. It is working, but however, I don't get any ringtone through the headset if I get called. The phone is ringing, but not the headset. Does anyone know about this and any suggestion on how to solve the problem?

Hi!

Try to reconnect it using the bluetooth control panel. I'm using my HBH-30 with the P800 on a daily basis, since I'm unable to find a HCH-32 car-holder for the handsfree-kit in my car. I have no trouble getting the ringtone in both the HBH-30 and the P800. Also, check that you have headset as preferred sound device in the phone settings -> handsfree.

best regards,

hi,
i have p800 and hbh-30 and when someone calls me i only hear one beep but when i call someone the headset keeps ringing so i just want to know if there is something with my HBH-30 or this is the normal
thankyou

from my experiance:

1- Always turn on the blue tooth on the phone before the headset
2- If the phone is ringing and the head set is not, click to botton on the head set, you will hear a series of peeps then it will transfer the ringing to the headset.

good luck 😉

I reconnected the headset, the other settings are right but I still have exactly the same situation as explained by medhat.
It looks to me as it is a bug!

hi,
i found that if you disabled voice answering the headset will ring normally, i don't know the reaseon but i think it's a bug as hegisin said

Ok, first of all..you don't have to turn on the headset first... it doesn't matter.

second, after pairing the headset with the P800, click on the HBH-30 and check the box that says "Allow to connect w/o confirmation"

thrid, under Phone, Preferences, Handsfree... Answering Mode [Normal], and Bluetooth preferred sound device [Headset]

forth, make sure your Bluetooth is ON, not on AUTO. AUTO mode is just if you want to answer calls...not make them.

I followed exactly the procedure, explained by jplacson but it did not fix the problem. Voice dialling also does not work.

I've just replyed to Keraby on the similar Topic "P800 and HBH-20". As soon as I get any information from the SE tecnical support, I'll let you know.

Hmm... mine works fine - can't be a bug. Can do voice dialling and the ringtone plays in my ear when someone calls me.

@Fides: Please be so kind and send me a copy of you reply to Keraby. Maybe it can help my case, too.

Now, I'm just wondering whether the mistake is with the phone or with the headset

hi,
i wanted to know the software version of the mobile phone of d713k0 to know if the problem is with our p800 or the headset.
thankyou

Hi Hegisin!

I tried to mail you, but I'm no member in this forum and I did not find any place to apply for a membership so here's my reply to Keraby:

"Hi all!
When i record a voice tag for a contact or magic word through my P800 and try to use the voice dial through my HBH-20 it gives no match most of the time, but if i do that from the P800 it is fine.
Does any one know how to record the voice tags through the HBH-20 not from the P800?

Thanks"

I answered 30 jan:

"I did experience the same problem, and it looks like there is a problem getting some of the HBH-Bluetooth to work properly with the P800. I tried the HBH-30 and it worked fine as long as I stayed within 1 feet from the P800. When I held the P800 behind my back or took a few steps away from the phone, there was a huge reduce in the sound quality. I then tried the HBH-20, with the same result.
I went back to the shop where I bought the P800 and the Bluetooth and we spend at least 2 hours trying several different P800 together with different HBH-20 and -30, always with the same result. They did promise me to look in to the matter and to have a talk with their tecnical support. "

Now, today, 3 feb, 1 hour ago, I got a message from the retailer where he said that problem is to be found in the software of the bluetooth. Even though the HBH-20 and HBH-30 that I tried in the shop were new, they didn't have the latest upgrade. This problem have occured and have been reported on different locations, depending on when the bluetooth itself was manufactured. To work properly with the SE P800 it requires the latest update and hopefully my HBH-30 will be upgraded and delivered back to me during this week.

I myself have no clue wether this is a correct solution to the problem, but if it al works out I'll let you know.

My problem is solved. 😃

With the new upgrade "RD1" my P800 now works fine with any bluetooth and it also fixed the bug with poor outgoing sound quality.
It took the SE Customer Care Center about 1 hour to upgrade my phone.
Thanks SE!

First. Bluetooth pairing can be notoriously unreliable. Even if u successfully pair a headset to a phone, it might not work the next time you use it after turning them off and on again. So here's some hints that have helped for me.

First. Try re-pair-ing the phone & headset in a noise free environment. By that I mean, go far away from any other devices that transmit on the 2.4 ghz band. (so go far away from other bluetooth devices, microwave machines, 802.11b access points etc). Best to do it at least 100 metres away from any of these sources. This will allow the bluetooth to pair in the most successful way.

Second. Make sure your P800 bluetooth is set to ON and not to AUTO. On the software I have (R1d) this makes a huge difference to bluetooth reliability. Even though in Auto mode, it should work... 1/4 times, it doesnt. In ON mode, it works for me every time.

hi,
regds to the problem, just like jplacson mentioned lets say you have paired the handset w headset correctly and have switched on the headset; you could check do couple of diagnostics:
1. is the P800 blue light blinking ?
2. is the bluetooth icon shown on the upper right-hand side of the screen ?
3. is the green light blinking on the headset ?
4. when you have received a call, did you see a message on P800 something like "transferred to headset" ?

all of the above must happen, else something is wrong.

another possible cause, your headset charge may be low or dead.
