N95 Missing USB Options

9 replies · 4,023 views · Started 24 January 2008

I have just purchase an N95 unlocked from Ebay.
Phone does look original and comes in Nokia box, nokia battery etc.
Works fine with my Orange sim etc..

BUT I cannot get it to connect to PC Suite. When it connects the USB option on the phone prompts, but I don't have a PC suite option. Only webcam, mass storage and com port.

I also cannot find the configure USB option anywhere.
Also the hard reset code won't work.

Can anyone advise / help? I can drop files onto the SD card ok.

I have PC Wuite
Data Transfer
Image Print and
Media Player

Whats the Com Port option do and whats the firmware version?

Different operator firmwares have different features available through the OS, some are blocked out.

You'll have to try and flash the firmware to an unbranded one if you can. You will find posts on this forum on how to do that.

I have done the com part and got a device driver request for a MT6227.
Which doing a google reports this as a chinese clone device driver.

Looks like I have a fake!

I'm afraid to say it's almost definately a fake. Does it slide both ways?

Slides both ways.
Camera takes rubbish pictures though and loads of settings not in the menus
Also the hard reset / soft reset codes don;t work.

No mention of wifi......😡

post a picture of the phone up if you can with the usb options showing and also just the phone

Ask the seller for immidate refund, and threaten to reclaim charges via ebay/paypal (if used) and also that you will be reporting them for selling fake Nokias to the counterfit lot (whoever covers that in your country).

Tbh, looks like youve been had with little comeback though.
