Program removed but icon still in menu

As the title says, I had on my phone ebuddy installed. I noticed there was a new version so I installed it, expecting it to overwrite the previous version but it didn't - leaving me with 2 icons on the menu for the same program. So I removed ebuddy but one of the icons remained ut doesn't do anything when I select it.
without completely rebuilding my phone (which takes hours) - is there any known way to remove it?

gotta check the obvious... are both installs of ebuddy removed? From app manager or from the program screen?

I removed one from the program screen (pressing the C button) and it has gone and no occurances exist in app manager BUT I still have an icon in my menu which I do not know how to remove (without a scratch install of the entire phone which is a real PITA).

Is ebuddy java prog ?
I had the same issue with amaze gps nav. software. it seems only phone format
can help in this case 😞

I know it is annoying, but if it doesn't bother you too much, just move the icon to a folder you'll never look at (Tools -> Utilities for me) and forget about it until the next time you need to flash your phone.

It's what I'm doing atm with a WidSets icon which doesn't want to go away. A bit of a waste to spend several hours setting everything up from scratch just for that.

Thanks for your responses. I will take your advice and just move it to an unused folder until the next N95 update (now thats a new topic on its own!)

I know this is an old thread but it showed up in a forum search and I just wanted to say a quick 'thanks' for reminding me that you can do this. Flickr's 'zonetag', now irrelevant, had disappeared from Application Manager, but I was able to remove it using this method.
