is the latest version out actually any better than the n95's internal browser
opera mini
Other than not being able to download files, yes it is IMO. But you can resolve that buy purchasing the opera mobile browser rather than downloading the free opera mini.
I too think it's better in some respects. It loads faster and is better at page scrolling. I prefer the Bookmark handling and the layout too. However, there are times when I'll use the internal as it has a more 'natural' feel.
the best things about Opera Mobile are:
- saves you money if you're on tight data tarrif, and also websites load faster
- filling in forms on website it's waaaay better on Opera Mobile, try to post A LONG post on a forum using the built in browser, it's a disaster when you wanna scroll, edit etc.

yup, agree. Nice to have both anyway and doesnt cost you anything to get it.
actually kontraband, opera mobile, as quoted in your message, is not free. Opera mini, which is in the title of this entire posting is free.
Just want to clarify that so people don't go looking for opera mobile as a free download.
Opera Mini is free and can be downloaded from opera.com through either your phone or pc (just copy of the .sis to your phone and install.)
Oh yeah, sorry... skim reading... I thought we were talking mini.
Cheers waxup
EDIT>> We WE'RE talking mini!! 😉 you changed it to mobile.. *must read better next time*

Actually it was me who changed it to Mobile:tongue: Sorry😉
My post was describing MINI Version.
yeah, the pair of you mentioned it...
:creep:
One more important thing -
If you need a browser which will keep your data download low, don't go for Opera Mobile. One of the differences between Mini and Mobile is/was that with MINI, websites are being optimized for your phone on Opera servers, hence you have to download only small amount of data, while Opera MOBILE downloads the normal version to your phone (full size) and then it optimizes it on your phone.
Hence much bigger data consumption.
So I should talk on my mobile while driving my mini to the Opera? :con?
Way to confuse the masses 3shirts LOL

Opera Mobile hasn't been updated for ages, right. Almost antique. They seem to have interrupted the development of this S60 version and now only develop the Opera Mini java version.
BTW, one of the main advantages of the Mini version over the built-in browser is that you can go back in window without downloading the last 2 MB page (or whatever)!

Not entierly correct - the current version of Opera Mobile is quite outdated, but a new version is being worked on. I saw a beta version of Opera 9 a while back - though that one was on a UIQ device. Looked quite good (if a bit buggy at the time) - had a Opra Mini 4 feeling, but without the limitations of Opera Mini. I think it was supposed to be released last year, but seems to be quite delayed. Lets hope for some words on that for "3GSM".
