is it actually possible to get a modified faceplate for the classic n95 and put a 2.8inch screen on it.
n95 screen mod
theres gotta be a way. the 2.6inch screen on n95 is too small
And an extra 5mm makes what difference exactly? The resolution is still exactly the same.
Its not just the screen its the buttons as well and the housing I beleve. If you look the front panel has smaller buttons ( I cant see why as theres aqequate room under the N95 screen )
It will prob be cheaper and easier to sell and buy the 8GB.
another user has tried this before, but failed.

i've been researching this as well. if you read the last page of the thread.
we realized that the entire slider needed to be replaced with an n95 8gb slider.
no one else tried such a risky hack job.
they are both (i believe, but these are theories) held by the same 4 screws from the main chassis.
also the flex cable connecting the slide module into the main chassis look very similar. i found out about this when i replaced the slider for my n95-1. i'll get you some pics when i find them.
now, since this is a mod, we can't tell if it'll work,
but these are my predictions:
25% chance, it will work but the output resolution is the same and it's stretched on the 2.8 screen (should be that bad but it'll be grainy)
25% chance, it will work but the output resolution is the same and pixel count is the same, which leaves a border on the 2.8 screen. (not bigger but still crisp)
49.99% it won't work at all
and
00.01% it'll blow up!!! (lol i know but no ones actually tried so i say anything can happen.
calculated to be around CAD$250-300 to do this mod (prices off of ebay)
it might still be better as unplugged suggested:
sell and upgrade.
