how to test if your phone is original

Someone sent me this method to identify the source of mobile phone assembly/manufacturing unit.

Type *#06# and press DIAL [green button]

After you enter the code you will see the IMEI code : 154526009564585 [sample number]

IF the Seventh & Eighth digit numbers are 02 or 20 that means it was assembled in Emirates, which is very Bad quality.

IF the Seventh & Eighth digit numbers are 08 or 80 that means it’s manufactured in Germany which is not bad

IF the Seventh & Eighth digit numbers are 01 or 10 that means it’s manufactured in Finland which is Good

IF the Seventh & Eighth digit numbers are 00 that means it was manufactured in original factory which is the best Mobile Quality …

IF the Seventh & Eighth digit numbers are 13 that means it was Assembly on Azerbaijan which is very Bad quality and very dangerous for health!!!

This will help you to find out if the mobile is original or assembled one.Try it.

how the hell can the quality vary. nokia has quality standards man

therefore doesn't require you to press the GREEN dial button. 😊

not only for the n95 some phones you do have to press the green button

Gives me my serial number .. which of the list is correct means mine was made in Finland .. not the original factory but hey 😊

my firmware is v20.x BTW

yes mine is finland but my frinds is 13 and he has had is in for repair more than he as used it mine as been fine od clitch frozen a couple of times

of course if you are entertaining dont you use your best china t cups etc

Finland and had since about 3 weeks after the uk launch, and never had any problems!

i find this very intresting, would like to know if repair problems are more specific to one area?

i do belive that standards ca vary alot!....

Interesting, mine is Finland dispite the fact it came from China.

Dangerous for health - what a rubbish! 😊 (the idea, not the phone 😉 )

The codes for country are fact but the bullsh*t about quality is pure hearsay. The factories are exactly the same and have the same quality standards and testing. Some may exceed those standards but none of them would be 'bad'

Out of the four N95's I've had so far, all of them have been made in Finland, and 3 of them have had the wobbly slider problem, so I would say this regional quality variance is either tosh, or the standards of the Finland made ones are so low that the ones made in other places must just literally fall to bits in peoples hands if your generalistic guidelines are anyting to go by......😎

complete nonsense.
havent heard something as ridiculous as this for ages now!

So I guess the N95's with wobbly sliders being sold in Hong Kong are all finland made and the N95's with solid sliders being sold in Europe and North America are made in China.

I guess this means Nokia likes spending its profits on shipping as well.
