1) Neither TomTom, nor Garmin, Route 66 etc are free.
2) Please use SEARCH function - there's been many topics about satnav with pros, cons and direct comparisons between all of them.

Very confusing post.

Whats expensive? the N95? the nokia maps navigation subscription?

Also begs the question, if Tomtom etc do GPS for free (which they dont), why dont you use that instead?

If you want a voice to "talk "to you and tell you when to turn right /left / go straight on you will have to pay for it .If you only use navigation now and again then Nokia maps with a weeks paid navigation(or whatever length of time you need it for) should do your job . If you need to use it every day to find addresses and postcodes first time every time then you need to be investing money into a good aftermarket programme that does what you need it to do.Some systems are better than others at different things.
A search of this forum should keep you reading for a few hours on the pro's and cons of the many free and paid systems on the market at the present time.
