charging n73 via usb cable?

Its the same with the later N series as well - even though they have a standard mini USB port, they won't charge from it ... bizarre.

i have a retractable charger that has changeable ends (mini usb, samsung etc...) it has a nokia attachment for my N73 and it charges perfectly out of any usb port

But that is slightly different though 😉 Such adapters have been around for a very long time. I've got the same sort of thing in the car.

Its mildly ridiculous that a device can have a USB connection on it, but not charge via it. It would probably be relatively trivial for Nokia to have designed the N73s pop port connector to allow routing of the +5v line through to the charging circuit.

Its really Idiotic of nokia to do that~~!:icon4: (But then,Its just one of many Stupidities we have to put up with nokia:icon13😊

The N73 can be charged on 5V (USB),Nokia have'nt purposely wired it to be so!
(if it did,Who's buying their stpiud USB to 2mm charging cable? :frown😊

What I did was buy a cheap 2mm standard charger, and an USB extension cable.
Ripped em both off,and had a USB port on one end,and the standard 2mm plug on the other! VOILA! no crappy diodes etc. required!

N73 *Natively* charges on USB! ha ah! I've been using it that way for 2 yrs and no problems at all! :icon14:
