i just want to ask about the compatability of Sony MagicGate Memory Stick Duo with the P800, does the 128 Mb MagicGate memory stick dou work in the P800 or not?
i have already sent an e-mail to SonyEricsson and that was there answer:
You can use any Memory Stick Duo with the P800.
but still i am not really sure about it, tell me guys what do you think?

NO, AFAIK it doesn't work with the P800, wait for regular MS DUO
Man you are confusing the poor fellow man, the MG sticks do work with the P800, you just have to format the stick and then there you go. It will work. But when is it comeing out?

I downloaded the original SonyEricsson p800 whitepaper, and it says in there that the MagicGate WON'T work. I don't if this is correct, but that is what it says

At this time I have seen posts reporting written (email) answers from SE itself about this P800 / MS-MagicGate compatibility some say it works, some say it does not work. o
So much for SE credibility... (but they have lost it long ago with all the P800 delays haven't they ?)
Result until someone (non SE) posts black-on-white "I have tried a MS-MG on my P800 myself. Veredict OK/KO" I will ignore all kind of "X said it's OK" reports.

Iv'e found a withpaper about the P800 on ericssons website. If you read page 30 you can see that the SE has a roadmap for the memorstick duo to span up to 1 GB.

It also sais that MG memory stick duo IS not supported by the P800 !

i have read the white paper and the user's guide which says NO, but sonyericsson said YES. until some one try it himself....

If you look at this page http://www.memorystick.com/en/pro_info/duo.html one could easily come to the conclusion that the P800 works with the MagicGate (simply because all the pictures are MagicGate sticks and the P800 is clearly alongside them)...
...and if you look here http://www.memorystick.com/en/ms/variety.html the MagicGate duos and the "regular" duos are clearly separated.
I'm not impressed with the fact that SE itself doesn't give a clear answer.
As if I called some software company, asking if their software works on Macintosh or not, and they answered ambigously. Unprofessional me thinks.

This should only be a competitive chart that shows how cool the MG product dominates the "Original Duo".
I think this one says nothing about compatibility. And if i where S///, i would clearly DENIE any answers about that 😃 😃
