Voice Dialling

Hi Folks,

I cannot figure out how I assign a contact voice tag for hands-free voice dialling, and nor can I quite grasp the voice command program. Therefore, any help and tips would be very welcome.
Cheers people

You don't need to assign voice tags to contacts - Symbian has built in voice recognition so you just need to say the name of the contact you want to dial clearly, and usually it'll bring up the right one.

The voice comm. application just shows you a list of non-contact things you can also choose using voice, and each one has a "Change Command" in the Options, which you can use to change the word you want to say to open that item. Again, no need to record anything - you pick the word and when you say it, the phone will recognise it.

To actually use the voice dialing/commands, press and hold down the right soft key until you hear a sound, then say the name of the contact/command.

theres also an option to remove the learning for voice recognition if its not working for you and train it again..

Some more tips!

If you don't want to say the person's proper name to voice dial them, add a nickname with want you *really* want to say when you call them. For example you could have "Engelbert" as first name, "Humperdink" as second name and "Crooner" as nickname. Then just say "Crooner" to dial them.

Similarly, if you want to specifically exclude a name from being voice dialled then add a nickname something like "Never voice dial this number".

When using a handsfree: If it guesses the name incorrectly just press the call/answer button on your remote and it will try its next best guess. You can press this several times before it runs out of ideas.

I'm constantly amazed at how well the voice dialling works on the N95.

it certainly works better than my N80 did... though I STILL cant get calulator to work?!?!?!

This is a diamond post!! I've been having headaches with this for ages....

I've found that it doesnt want to learn names of things at all. And things dont learn my voice lol. The only ones ive got working so far is "Home" (easy enough) and "Manis" even though its saying it as "Maynees" lolollol

How do i get it to do double names, like "John Smith" would i say John, Smith or both?

i'm looking for something that allows me to control as much as i can by voice - open, write texts/emails would be good. anyone know of anything that can do this? i heard of an app called neuvoice but i don't think is for s60v3 phones.
thanks
