I have no idea how it happened, but while I was updating my N80 (unlocked) the updating software gave me an error message. I clicked OK and it closed itself. I could see the phone rebooting beside my computer, but it would just stop at the page where it says "NOKIA" with a white background. It refuses to do anything or respond to anything except for the power button. When I tried to run the updating software again, it says it couldn't detect the phone. Is there a way to get it working again?
N80 bricked
A couple of things you can try:
Safe mode hold ABC key down on boot.
If that dosen't work try reformatting the phone. All data will be lost.
power the phone off,
press and keep down the keys green/talk + '3' + '*', - power on the phone.
release the keys when the formatting starts.
You may need an extra set of hands to help you with that.
Good luck
You'll most likely have to take your phone to a nokia service centre so they can force reflash the phone.

thanks. I just it got to by reformatting it. Strangely, I found this fix before, but at that time, it didn't seem to work. Anyhow, it's fix now. Thanks!
The only other thing i can suggest is take out the battery hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. replace the battery restart.
If that fails try again but with the reflash button combo.
If still no joy it may have to go to be repaired.
My wifes phone did the same but by a combination of the above it eventually booted and is working fine again. It did take several go's however for it to work. I may have just been lucky.
Oh on a final note i found it only worked when i removed the simcard from the phone.
