Good day all.
perhaps u can help me. I either dont understand how it works or something is up.
i copied over some songs to my n95 8gb memory card
i put them in the sounds/digital folder
after a while i changed my mind and deleted them. I already had some songs on it (about 16 or so) and i kept them
i pressed the media button on the right of the keypad
went into music / music and it showed me i had 209 songs and listed all of the ones i had deleted, tryiong to play these and it just skips to the next one until it finds a file that is actually on the phone.
Is there a way to kinda refresh this list? i checked on the phone and the songs are not on it
i rebooted the phone twice and they still show up
Thanks in advance
You can refresh the list quite quickly but where to find the option differs between firmwares. I can only speak for the N95-1 so I don't know if it's different for the N95-8Gb model.
On v12 or earlier firmware, go to the main music menu (with all songs, playlists, artists, albums etc listed), press Options and then refresh the library.
On v20 firmware, go to the Music player menu (with Music and Podcasts listed), press options, then choose Refresh.
Again I iterate it may be different on v11 and v15 on the N95-8Gb but hope this helps at least.
Hi there.. Try this link to sort out your problem http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=music&thread.id=6494
It works on N95 8GB too.. There are a couple of threads on this problem in this forum too.
If you have windows media player on your pc use this to transfer and delete music, you will have no problems then.
For some reason, I lost my "refresh" capability when I changed over to my new 8GB card the other day.. I dont know whats going on. I only have Moby's song there now.. sigh
Hi Sosages, try the following:
1) Copy the music files you want to wherever you want on the memory card (or mass storage if its the N95 8GB).
2) Connect the phone in "Data transfer" mode to your PC.
3) Delete the two files in "E:\private\101FFC31" (called "mpxv1.mpd" and "pcv5.mpd"😉.
4) Delete the one file in "E:\private\101ffca9" (called "harvesterdb.dat"😉.
5) Disconnect the phone from the PC and run the Music Player on the phone.
6) Wait a while for the app to startup. It will be rebuilding the library......
7) Just to be sure, select "Refresh".
