Hello out there,I've been using N95 for almost 9 months so far and i'd like to ask you 2 questions that i consider reasonable (in my opinion!)
1) What's the real purpose of Birthday field under Contacts it It does not "syncs" with calendar and thus not be able to notify you for the someones birth day?
2)How can i import a contact's telephone while writing an sms? My way,is to edit the number that i need, hold down the pencil button-copy the number and then paste it... Silly one?
Well,is there anybody that can show me the way...?
Thank you people
I ve got 2 questions for you...!
too send a contact number simply go to the contact you wish to send on and press send business card then it puts that contacts details into a sms then just add who you want to send to
good one snuge-thanks...i guess that there is no such thing as "importing" numbers in to sms...
to be honest they could have made it sligtly more obvious because when you see send busniess card you would normally asume that you are sending the contact you wish to send a business card. if that makes sense
it really does for that's the case!!!Anything on birthday ?
ni idea nevr used for anything other than reminders

Do you mean like Copy and Paste?
That can be done, but it's not very elegant. I haven't bothered to remember phone numbers since the early 1990's, I just wish phone companies would put a little more effort in to the UI so it's easier to flip between contacts and what ever you are doing at the time.
Speaking of contacts, mine can take 30 seconds to open up each one for editing. Anyone else have this problem?
hey dchky...all i mean is the feature that my old 6230 used to implement:Insert Number
The birthday date field is useful for showing what birthday the next birthday is (in some apps). Papyrus for example shows the event as Birthday: Fred Bloggs (29) on the given date. Quite useful.

If you trying to do what I think you are just hit options then add recipient.
But then it could just be a silly answer...

Only marginally quicker than using the pencil button to copy a number before pasting, but go into the details of the contact whose number you want to enter, highlight the number you want to send then select "Options" then "Use number" then "Copy". It's now ready for pasting into the message.
Only saves a couple of keystrokes mind!

I think it's just to record information. There are all sorts of fields you can add, such as assistant's name which, to be honest, you'd probably enter as a separate contact. Likewise, if you wanted to add someone's birthday you'd put it straight in the calendar.
