Hi all,
Have done a search and read through all the posts but can't find an answer - hope someone out there can help.
A few weeks ago, I plugged my N73 into the standard Nokia charger that came with it and was rewarded with a bright spark from the charging port, and a popping sound. Since then, the phone will not charge when plugged into any charger. The phone works completely fine otherwise, with no other loss of function. The only thing is that it won't charge when plugged into wall or car charger.
The battery that was in there charges fine if put into a desktop charger. I figured there must have been a power surge, as my flat's circuit breakers were tripped, and the charging circuit was fried.
Tried taking it to a Nokia Service centre, but they won't touch it as I bought it from Ebay last March, and they want the receipt when it was purchased from a Nokia reseller.
Since it is not covered by warranty, I figured I'd try fixing it myself. Thing I don't know is, which bit I need to replace? Is it just a case of changing the charger port, or is it likely part of the circuit board was damaged, bearing in mind the phone works as normal?
Your help is very much appreciated😊
