Plum is the red version yes. O2 is still on version 7.24 I believe. But it's straightforward to change the product code and upgrade to 7.40 which is the latest version. There is a simple and detailed guide somewhere on the AAS forum. Don't have the link but should be easy enough to find. I've done it on my O2 E90 with no problem.

Thanks mate :icon14:

what exact product code did you use?

and did you get a PLUM coloured one on 02 aswell?

any problems with stabiliy or anything else on yours after putting new firmware on it?

cheers

Got the Mocha version but then that's what they said they'd send me.

Don't remember what product code I used (something like the EURO1 code I believe) and I can't even check as I've reverted it to the old product code to avoid any problem with the guarantee and wifi authentication (somebody on mysymbian said that using another product code than the original one can cause problems there).

No problems at all with the latest version of the firmware (apart from maybe one crash when using the web browser).

Got my phone this morning, they promised me a "plum" coloured one, and i recieved the brown one.......will just have to stick with it, anyway..... i changed the product code and updated to latest firmware, everythings great!
as far as the wi-fi concerns, i dont believe any of it, my wi-fi connection is fine and working flawlessly
i have an 8GB card coming tomorrow and a car mount for it 😊

I have been having the 7.40 firmware problem and here is what O2 have said:

Have spent 3 days in phone calls with O2 (half from them to me). They have been very helpful.
The O2 answer is:
The 7.40 firmware has bugs, therefore they will not authorise it.
Bizarre solution from them is to put someone elses sim card in, eg orange or vodaphone and do the upgrade that way. They did warn me this would invalidate the warranty though.

I did it by using the NSS utility and so far so good.

Hi

I have also taken the plunge and upgraded my 9500 to an E90 with o2.

I am looking and changing the firmware upto 7.40 as all you other have done.

When you do this, do you need to recreate the settings for Mobile Web, WAP etc. or are these maintained?

Thanks

Just got an E90 myself on O2, got the dark coloured one, before doing anything on it im updating the FW to 7.40. Changed it to 0533332 which is UK Mocha 1 i think, which allows NSU to update fine, just half way thru the update process now. Will change back to the original one after 😊 Seems to be so far so good!

Just out of interest, what was the original product code? I can't seem to see it listed anywhere...
