i currently have the N80 and am looking to get a new phone as i have had it over a year.
the main features i like about my n80 are...
the camera on the front
applications can be running in the background
the pencil key (copy and paste)
the ability to mark lots of pictures or messages at once
which phone would you recommend i get next that has most of these features?
i like the look of the 6500 classic or slide, i'm sick of chunky phones!!

Pretty much any midrange nokia can do most of that, although they are getting rid of the pencil key in newer models.
When you say camera on the front, what do you mean?
Having a video camera (one for video calling, lower res) on the front and normal one on the back? AFAIK Most if not all nokia have the main camera round the back.
If you do mean a secondary video call cam on the front, then the 6500 classic doesnt have one, but the 6500 slide does.
You could also look at the 6120 classic. Has everything you mentioned, bar the pencil key.
By the looks of it, its the 6500 slide or 6120 classic that fits the bill for you.

thanks for the recommendations, i like the look of the 6120 and 6500 slide, i'll go into a shop tomorrow and have a play with them.
i got 6500 classic two weeks ago! i like the phone a lot but im having weird problems with it sth related to voice clarity - i always hear people on the other side clearl but sometimes they tell me they cant hear me well, which i dunno why i try to move it to the other ear and it works. i took it to maintenence and they did software upgrade and told me my phone has nothing wrong in it. otherwise the phone is just great and elegant and has cool features. highly recommended!
