Who needs an application signed??

It looks like someone wants a piece of my spotlight.

really though, i think its great that someone else wants to help out others with signing.

If anyone wants to know how i do it, let me know.

hey, amzi, why don't we both work on a nice tutorial explaining how to sign apps. A nice indepth but easy to follow guide. i know there are lots out there but there isn't one that has multiple methods or what to do if something goes wrong etc.

Just a thought.

Thanks for helping others tho in the signing process. I know not everyone that has a smartphone like this neccessarily knows how to do the signing or even where to start other than a place like this.

I don't know how much easier and self explanatory it can be...

You get a 3rd of the way through this ... and having got the Symbian signed registration the instructions tell you to run the DevCertRequestControl - showing installed already on the PC ...

It explains no where how you get this utility ...

No matter how simplistic and easy to follow, people will still come in below the bar, even if it's laying flat on the floor 😊

There are lots of good guides already, this isn't to say another one wont be useful, I guess my point is that people don't read, they want spoon feeding and the ability to forget how they took their last mouthful.

Symbian will also blacklist your email domain and account if you look like you're signing too many IMEI's on a regular basis.

i sign my own apps/games using 1 of them standard signing apps where u have to have a cert and key file made for your imei.
well my question is ,is there a way to get a cert and key which would allow me to sign things for all phones or can you only sign for multiple phones using a symbian signed account?

p.s i know i could sign other phones if i had the files made for the individual phones but is there a cert/key what signs for all

Just to let everyone know that has messeged me about getting there applications signed. You'll have to wait till the symbiansigned website is back up and running as its currently down due to site maintainence.

Everyone that has emailed me will get there applications sent to them, provided you left me with you email address as soon as the site is back up and running.

And before you ask it's too easy to clone.

Do you care to back this comment up how with just an IMEI you can be putting yourself at risk?

Unlike the Electronic Serial Number or MEID of CDMA and other wireless networks, the IMEI is only used to identify the device, and has no permanent or semi-permanent relation to the subscriber. Instead, the subscriber is identified by transmission of an IMSI number, which is stored on a SIM card which can (in theory) be transferred to any handset. However, many network and security features are enabled by knowing the current device being used by a subscriber.

The IMEI is of use for the central blacklist as a method of identifying a stolen handset, the only issue I can see would be a clone IMEI on a stolen handset, but unaware of how that would actually affect you with totally different MEID?
