I am about to buy a case for my Nokia 95 8gb and was wondering if I could get feedback from others in this forum regarding which type or brand of case to purchase. I am considering a leather Krussell case as I have one of these on my PDA and they are of great quality. Also I have to consider the pro's and con's of a clear crystal plastic case and other leather cases, including the latex type. Any comments would be very welcome.
regards

Jim

I have got a Crystal Case (had one for my E61 too). They offer a good degree of protection and you can use the phone straight away - no need to unfold the case.

Disadvantages - they do get scratched. Sometims it can be hard to remove the case without cracking it. However on the N95 you shouldn't need to take the phone out of the case often. However, even if they get scratched, cracked they are so cheap it doesn't really matter!

Do not buy the Krussell case for this phone, if it's the one I got!! Can't say that enough.. I bought one and it's the worst case possible, doesn't fit properly and it grips the phone over the keypad. This means that when you close the slider it pushes it up and creates a big gap between the slider and the phone.. Not good..

I got rid straight away and got the Noreve luxury leather case which is like a pda case. It was about 25 but worth every penny.. A great buy if you are after that type of case

I have had 3 crystal cases on my n95 and none lasted longer than about a week without cracking then not shortly after breaking (on front just under keys), yet I have had one on my SE for over 18 months and its still good. So a month or so ago I ordered a capdase silicone case and I must say I really like it . The capdase fits on phone just like the crystal and unlike the cheap versions it has no runners at sides of phone so it makes very little difference to size of phone & capdase are the only silicone case I have come across that has hard screen protector the others have no protection for screen.
In conclusion yes I like the crystal cases but after trying this silicone case though it costs more in my opinion it gives better protection and will last far longer than crystal cases

Have to agree with Matt64 on the Krussell case. Bought three cases off Blueunplugged.com - one silicone, one crystal and the Krussell case, the intention being that the siliicone and crystal would be my 'spares' and the Krussell would be my everyday case.

The silicone case added a lot of bulk to the phone and whilst offering a lot of protection to the phone case, offered no protection to the screen. The crystal case was pretty good, but just like my N95 crystal case before it, cracked within a few weeks.

Krussell case one was bad. Poor fitting as if it was too small for the phone. Didn't like the idea of the slide riding over the keypad protector but was very careful fitting the case, allow plenty of time for the case and the plastic to stretch so as not to loosen the slide.

Within a month the plastic was beginning to tear where it was stiched to the leather. Blueunplugged were outstanding in swapping it out for a new case within a few days.

Krussel case two is even worse and hasn't even lasted two weeks. Again, gave it plenty of time of stretch to fit, but every time I went to close the slider, the plastic over the keypad rose up getting in the way of the slider. The final straw was the top pop-rivet fastening at the top of the case would open at the merest tap.

Currently speaking to Blueunplugged about getting a replacement that isn't a Krussell, plus taking back the Multi-adapt accessories (windscreen holder, neck lanyard) that I bought specifically to go with the case. Apparently there has been a drop-off with the quality of Krussell cases of late (take that as you will).

I'm leaning towards the PDair N95 8Gb flip case, but doen't any company produce a decent case for the N95 8Gb with the functionality of the Krussell (wear on belt, hang from neck, view securely from windscreen mount) whilst offering decent protection for the camera lens? Certainly be interested to hear!

In the meantime, I'm returning to my trusty Case Logic pouch with neck lanyard. The sense of freedom at being able to use my phone without having to worry about the slide mechanism is nerdishly exhilerating!

But to reiterate, do not, repeat DO NOT PURCHASE THE KRUSSELL N95 8GB LEATHER CASE FOR YOUR PHONE. IT HAS A PLETHORA OF FLAWS THAT WILL LIMIT THE USE OF YOUR PHONE.
