P800 irc client

is there an irc client in development for the p800? That would be a really nice app for the phone. The 7650 has one which is pretty good (wireless irc)

I know... that app would just about do it for me as well.

I wonder of anyone knows how to port apps from Series 60 to UIQ...

Wow, ambitious for your first java app.

I added a link to it and an new question in the P800 FAQ. You can add your comments to it if you want.

Personally, I don't really like the fact that it opens windows for every "/msg" you make... windows you can't (or maybe I haven't figured out how to) close...

I chat in the Undernet - so I always have a window open for [email protected], and another one for X... the former I need to login for my access as a channel manager, and the other, so I can perform standard x-commands.

Also, I don't like the fact that after you tap on "Say," you have to tap inside the dialog box again to write the next line... seems like a small thing, but it can get tedious, especially when you have a lot to say.

BUT...

Considering how young the P800 is, I am simply amazed at the support it's getting, and how developers are coming up with applications faster than mushrooms growing after horses have passed by.

Kudos to Tommy Tonteri for making such a nifty application, and for giving me my fix!!! I hope the next version will be heaps better, and will knock the socks off WirelessIRC!!!
