T9 Dictionary keeps forgetting new words — Nokia N95 and N95 8GB

I have noticed, since V20, my T9 dictionary remembers my custom words for about 2-3 weeks, then forgets every one of them.

Is this a feature thats always been there, or is my phone just being awkward? Anyone else notice it?

Can't be correct - mine remembers the customized entries....
...or maybe I got the special N95-1 😊

It has remembered the customized words ever since the original FW.... :con?

yeah, so far as I know it should remember the words.

I have seen posts saying that the custom dictionary can only hold 'so many' words before its a first in, first out policy. Dont know if thats correct tho.

Nah, mine just gets so far and then forgets literally everything

It's pretty frustrating, but I suppose I can live with it, heh

I experience the same problem from time to time too. It's been the same since as far back as the 7650. From what I can tell, there's only X amount of space assigned to a custom dictionary on these phones. When it gets full, and a new word is added, an old one gets removed.

It seems pointless since phones these days have more than enough memory to handle larger dictionaries. They're only words!

What I meant is that they're hardly going to take up a lot of the phone's memory because it's only text :tongue:
