Steve, I don't exactly see why you refer to the E90 as being "forgotten" , considering that any new S60 aplication should be able to run smoothly on it, maybe you were thinking of optimized apps that take fully advantage of the internal screen? In that case, yes, it's true that there aren't that many popping out now and then....
Oh, and about the comments previous to this one, mentioning if Nokia is working on a new Communicator, and new hardware releases, well, I don't think that I'm going in a wrong direction, if I say that, for sure, we'll have to wait, probably until at least 2009 to see a new Communicator...
Proofs or reasons of why I think that?
1-There is certainly a new hardware of the E90 under development. Not yet available to us customers, but that can be seen via Remote Device Access (RDA), a facility that Nokia Forum provides to developers that don't currently have a physical, live device with themselves, so they can try to run their own-made aapplications and test them remotely. The E90 on this video, is running a new firmware, as the video itself mentions (note also the Internet Telephony plugin on the active standby, which is not on the current firmware versions).

2-I was at MWC this week in Barcelona, and at the Nokia stand (strangely, I have not seen AAS or any other site/blog reporting it) you could see a new color (black) available for the E90! The Nokia guy said that would be available during this year (did not specify an exact date though...), and I can say that if I had to buy a new E90 in the future, I would for sure pick up the new black version, looks absolutely amazing!!
And, by the way, it's not just an external black housing, and the interior parts and keyboard are still mocha (as seen on the red E90), it's totally black, including screen frame, keyboard, etc.. really elegant and stylish!!
So, I don't think they want to release a new color version during this year and are working on a new firm, if there was a E90i or E90 8GB on the way... 😉
