Ok, here we go again. 😞
Since my 9210 has been freezing and crashing and all that (hell, not even Nokia can figure it out, all they can think of is reflash, reformat, reinstall), I'm getting rid of it. But first I have to get it to its "just bought" condition, so I have to reinstall everything.
First, my PC Suite acts strangely (nothing new since it has the numbers "9210" attached to it). When I install it, it pops up this warning:
"File(s) failed to self-register:
C:\<path>\Agnssync.dll"
And it acts strangely, even after numerous reinstalls. Does anyone know how to resolve this, or how I can manually register that file?
Secondly, my original problem is still there. File or directory is corrupted (whenever I install stuff). I've tried everything humanly possible. Reformat, reinstall, reflash. Any other ideas? Could it be a virus?

Manual Dll registering process.
Goto "C:\Program Files\Nokia\PC Suite for Nokia 9290 Communicator" folder. In that folder there is a file called Agnssync.dll. This is the dll that did not register properly when you installed the PC suite. Right click agnssync.dll and select "open with" this brings up the open with box. select the "browse" button and browse to "C:\WINDOWS\system32" and select regsrv32. You should get a box that states dll registered successfully. reboot your PC and the nokia by removing the battery and resync.
Also... If the bozos at tier3 Nokia support told you to remove the calendar file from the communicator... You might have to replace it manually

Right click the calendar task and "edit task" when the box comes up it will say default calendar at the top of the screen. In that box type c:\system\data\calendar. It will ask you if you want to create the file (if it is really not there) click yes and sync your calendar!

Allthough I thought someone said the new version of PC Suite didn't have that problem with SPs anymore. :roll:

By the way, what IS the latest version of PC Suite for the 9210? Is it the one dated Dec 02 2002? I think I've downloaded a lot of versions already and I don't really know which one is the latest.

there is a beta version on the usa site that I am using. It is the windowsxp compatible for the 9290 beta... I think it is pretty new. After I fixed the calendar problem I have not had any other issues.
Probably it's the newest...
