Hi last night when i went to look in my contacts list it wouldnt open,in the end i had to reformat the phone.is there a reason as to why it could of had trouble opening contacts?could somthing of been running in the background,if so how to i end these running programes?

no idea on part one... could just have been a glitch in the OS.
re seeing whats running, just hold down the menu key, select the app and click 'c'
did u happen to install any new app lately??? the app might be corrupt..which caused ur phone to crash...
nokiaddict has a point there. Did you happen to install an old copy of Conversation at all? There's been reports that it was extremely buggy on the N95 8Gb, and this may have been one of the bugs.
