Warped Phone?

1 replies · 1,516 views · Started 14 February 2008

Maybe I've dropped my 9300 a few too many times.

Now the phone doesn't want to close completely, so I think that either the case, hinges or both are a little warped.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a remedy?

I've already replaced the battery cover door (little plastic legs had come off) and the cover (paint wore off of the plastic) once each.

I'd be interested in hearing stories on how you went about "true-ing up" your phone again after damaging it.

I hate it when I have to post my own replies to questions...

Elsewhere on the net I found someone with a similar problem, theirs was under warranty and Nokia replaced the chassis.

So....I've found the website of someone who sells the individual component chassis (and all the other parts as well!):

Not wanted to pay $74 + S&H ... I then tried a little gentle "twisting" of the phone chassis to see if I could get it at least a little better.

Lo and behold ... it worked! The chassis is now back into alignment.
