is there an app for the n95 8gb. Something akin to a file explorer, that will allow me to browse a shared file on the pc wirelessly and then let me transfer files to the phone without the need to go to the pc and plug the usb cable in. ???
I have been reading up on UPnP but i am pretty thats not really what i need. Not fussed about playing files (streaming). Just want to navigate to folder and then download them to my phone. I have used orb and whilst you cando this. It seems to take ages to download a file and whilst orb is could it seems contribute towards me losing interent connection on pc for browsing only for some reason
And woud also like to able to send pictues wirelessy to pc from phone.
If someone could point me in right direction i woudl be grateful.
thanks.
😮 Ur PC not have infrared or bluetooth?
will do what you need .. provided you have a wireless AP/router to which both PC and phone can connect ..

good luck!😊
Thanks Seki. Seems to be excatly what i am looking for. I went for the freeware versio. Just unsure though. When connecting to the webpage via mobile what address would you put in. Is its the 127.0.0.1 or is the lan network address thats been allocated to it. Dont seem too much documentation with the freeware one.
also no bluetooth or infrared on pc but its up in the loft out the way with long cable connecting the plasma to it. 🙄

you'd put in the IP address of the PC .. often its something like 192.168.1.x .. or 10.0.0.x .. you can check on XP by exploring the properties of the network connection .. or if you prefer go to a command line and type route print
that'll give you a list of IP addresses your PC is using .. ignore the 127.0.0.1 (loopback) one .. pick something that looks like the above - its likely if you look at the last line it will have default gateway 192.168.1.1 (or something like that) .. whatever it is thats VERY likely to be the network address range you're looking for .. in the numbers above.
oh the phone type that number and you should be in business!
good luck! 😊
excellent . the freeware app works brilliantly. Its good as dont need it running all the time. just when i want to upload or download something. Speeds are pretty good.
Just saves me having to go up into loft to put something on the phone now.
