Hi,
I have acquired an e51, symbian s60, 3rd edition - and am very happy with it as such...
Alas - the "good old" problem still persists...
I live in a country (Brazil) where long-distance provider is a free-choice, and I need therefore to dial a long-distance number using a long-distance operator code, lets say 041.
Example number: 0412112345678
[041 = LD operator; 21 = state; the rest is the number]
However, as I travel a lot I also need to be able to call from outside Brazil to the same number, typically ending up with calling +55+number.
Example number: +552112345678
First problem!
With the E51, and S60 - I can't edit the number right before I use it. I have to enter the phone-book and enter the context menu and choose edit and step down to number and actually edit the number as it is stored!
Second problem!
If I go to another state, then all the numbers store in my home state without the state code (11) suddenly needs LD+11 to function.
What I am looking for...

Either a quick-/direct-way to edit when (right before) dialing

A configuration option [preferred solution] in which I can set dial options/rules such as:
- all "+any_country_code" [i.e. plus-sign and a country-code] automatically insert international longdistance code e.g. 0041, when dialing
- all numbers greater than 8 digits (counted from the back) automatically insert national longdistance code e.g. 041, when dialing
This way I would have one, and only one, place to make changes when I need to switch LD operator, and, when I travel, it simply “just works” by removing the LD code in the central config and as the LD is not present in the number stored in the phonebook.
Anyone?
best regards...
Vitus
