No 3D hardware accelerated graphics. This phone lacks PowerVR MBX its not a real ngage device in my eyes!
It does seem very very odd for Nokia to be trumpeting the N96 as a new flagship phone with gaming keys but also saying that it doesn't have the same 3D acceleration that its predecessor the N95 has.
However, I wouldn't worry TOO much about 3D chips, all modern smartphones can do smooth 3D through software rendering. All that a 3D chip does is allow the 3D to be more detailed without affecting smoothness. 3D detail is probably much less important to phone gamers than console gamers, because the screen on most phones is so tiny that you can't see much detail anyway (on the other hand, the N96 has an enormous screen by phone standards so the lack of detail will be more visible, so perhaps it matters much more on an N96).
Also, looking at the release list of games, most of them aren't graphics-intensive anyway. They're mostly fairly simple 3D, or even 2D where a 3D chip simply isn't useful at all.
