Awesome. I use Vista and my phone sits charging on the otherside of the room (but connected via bluetooth). This will help me be even more lazy!

Yes, this looks really useful! Nice clean interface, and no bugs found yet, which is good.

Beta Labs come up trumps again!:icon14:

Found a bug, and its a real pain unless Im missing something. When you have no messages left in your inbox (because I managed to clear my inbox using this little gadget!!!!! 😊 you can then end up with 'Phone inbox empty'. At that point navigation buttons disappear (quite rightly as no messages to navigate) but that also takes away the 'New message' button. So make sure you leave 1 message in your inbox.

Great idea

But it doesnt notify you if you have a new text, theres no symbol or difference from read and unread text messages, which without looking at your phone makes it difficult to realise if you have one!

Also when you open and read a message on the computer it doesnt recognise that its been read, so it stays as a new messages on your phone, which can become complicated if you receive and reply to lots of text messages throughout a day!

Lets hope these get put into the gadget as the production of this little gadget progresses.

Certainly very space age and funky! love it!

"Text Messenger Gadget installation requires that PC Connectivity Solution 7.37.19 or later is installed before you can continue."

I got Nseries PC suite and N95 8GB, so WTF? :con?

....strange, I could not install on my PC with nseries PC Suite??....it's the version on the Beta Labs site at the moment, can't remember the error message (not near that PC now), there does seem to be an issue with nseries PC Suite looking at the beta forum, what version of nseries PC Suite do you have? (is it the one which was withdrawn from the Beta site last year?)

It's 2.0.262.0 the Nseries PC Suite that I have. Downloaded from beta labs maybe a month or so ago.

How is the latest version of NSeries PC Suite, has it got a lot better?

I uninstalled the one from last year because it had too many bugs.

Nothing major that I have noticed. Just a bit of flickering when it first starts up. I have read somewhere of someone experiencing backup and restore problems with it, but user error can't be ruled out for that instance.

I don't use the backup feature, so haven't tested it.

Thanks Steve, I wouldn't use that either, really only syncing the phone with Outlook and texting. I'll give it another try.

Is it alright having NSeries PC Suite and the normal PC Suite installed at the same time? obviously they can't be run at the same time.

I had a few hiccoughs when doing this and ended up uninstalling normal PC Suite. Been using the NSeries version ever since without any problems and not bothered with the normal.
