WLAN weak access.

I have two wirless PCs here and several wireless access point (I run a PC repair shop).

My newly acquired P1i works fine on wirless with all my APs provided I reman within a 3 foot radius of the antenna. Further than this and I lose the signal. Other PCs hae regularly worked in every corner of the house for several years.

I have disabled the WPA and tried to connect to an unsecured AP, same result 3 feet and that's it, no signal.

I called SE and they said Hmmm, sounds like you have a phone problem. Fine, but what do you folk think? Should I send it back to product repair or, am I doing something silly.

I have upgraded to the latest software (see previous post).

The Wireless LAN capability was one of the main resons for buying this device.

Once more, any help here is much appreciated - Pete

Forgot to say. Obviously an 11b client will only ever connect at 11b rates (11Mbps) even if it gets to connect to an 11g (up to 54Mbos) host.

I gave up waiting for a reply and have now sent my P1i back to product repair. I got hold of another P1i for an hour and it had loads of signal strength. I also noticed that my GSM isignal strength was way down on the P1i compared with a number of other phones.

I went out and bought myself an SE K770i to use while my P1i is away. This is a fantastic little phone.
