Well after many days of testing and trying different programs/applications that would allow to "simply" convert one of my DVD films and watch it on the phone - I find that this has/is the best for me so far:-
As the N95 does not have DivX it will need to be installed - simply google for Mobile DivX - then download to your computer and install onto your phone using PC Suite.
Then go to http://www.xilisoft.com/dvd-to-divx-converter.html and purchase, @ $29 (you can buy in other currencies as well including GBP) - once purchased you will be given a registration code. Download and install the program/application onto your computer - enter the reg code when requested - now run the program/application, put a DVD into your drive, click on "find DVD info", click on the line of info that is the actual film, click on "rip DVD" and sit back.
Whilst being ripped it is being put into a destination file (that you can select) so that when ripping is finished you just drag and drop the ripped DVD file onto your memory card and DONE!!
To watch the film litteraly just go to your DivX application. open it and the DVD film will appear in list fashion/style, highlight it, and press play AND IT WORKS.
Other aspects can be changed and you can experiment etc but it really does work straight away and is the best I have found.
Cheers. :icon14:
Xilisoft rips straight from DVD?
I've had this bit of software for ages and I used it AFTER I have converted a DVD>AVI using another bit of software.
So thanks, will try this later!
I prefer CloneDVD mobile, from Slysoft, which does exactly the same thing.
Convert DVDs to play on mobile video equipment like the N95, as well as Sony PSP, Apple iPod Video, iAudio X5, Creative Labs ZEN Vision, etc
Convert DVDs to other file formats like DivX, XviD, AVI, MP4, etc.
Utilises a high quality picture conversion engine
Supports multi-angle movie DVDs
Video Preview shows an overview of all selectable DVD titles
Target size freely adjustable
Supports chapter trimming
Very easy to use
Picture snapshots while converting
Logging window available
Stable, fast and does not require an ASPI driver
Oh no, I just have video converter, not DVD to DivX🙄
Have any of these converters got the option to rip subtitles as well? Any program I've sued in the past don't take subtitles, which for some films, that just doesn't work.
Can you not hardcode subs using vobsub etc?

I agree Clone DVD Mobile is very good but at more than $10 dearer than the price of Xilsoft 😮
