hi my phone will not recharge with an official SE charger..
however it will recharge when plugged into my laptop with the usb cable
any suggestions

On the connector plug the 4th pin from the right as you look at the front (with the symbol on) should be longer than the others, is it? I say this because my data cable wouldn't work initially and it was only when I got a replacement that I noticed the difference, the one on my original cable was the same size as the others. Could be that?
Maybe your charger is not making proper contact with your phone. Try pushing it in a bit further and see if that helps.
