N80 keypad

I find it annoying that the keypad has to stay out when you are on a call or it cuts the call off. Is there any key sequence that allows you to close it while you are talking so this doesn't happen?:con?

not sure if this is the same situation, but when I'm on a call and using BT headset, I can close the slider and the call will still be on.

Firmware issue perhaps ? I'm still on the 4.0632.0.38

I had Nokia on the phone and his suggestion was to update the firmware. Looked on my phone and I have the same as you which is supposedly the most current.

Nokia says this is not their issue and is a Symbian issue if there are workarounds to this issue.

I am new to the N80 and have not tried this closing of the keypad using my bluetooth headset.

Actually that firmware is not the latest...5.xx is the newest one I believe

When I went through the steps on the website putting in my phone type and the code number from under the battery it said the latest one was the one I already have. PC Suite would not update it either.

From the Nokia website:

Update availability is based on many things including existing phone software (firmware) version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables that your phone isn't eligible for updates. You may also be lacking some required settings, or your phone may not be compatible with this phone update.
