Whaasup everybody , let me begin by letting you guys know that I am really really new to this symbian stuff
Ok so here is the thing I have set up my Gmail's account's on my N95-3 NAM , and so far so good , it does connect and it does download the emails , the problem is that is not downloading the very recent ones :befuddled  it is downloading the oldest mails that I have (some of them are from december 2006 :bulging: how in the heck do I set it up to download only the recent ones ?? :con?😡
I have tried the following : Open the account I wish to download > Options > Retrieve e-mail > New , and still nothing :con?😡:frown: WTF !!
On retrieval settings I have this : Max. 3(kb) and Retrieval amount 50
Like I said mail is getting downloaded , and it is connecting so I know my email (account settings) are right , all I need now is to get the latest mails on my phone , any help will be highly appreciated , thanks dudes !! :icon14:😊😉
It's downloading everything as they are considered unread. What you need to do is retrieve Headers only, mark them all as read and then it won't bother with them.
Hi Neo001, the best way to set up gmail on your N95 is to use IMAP access (and not pop3).
This will solve your problem.

Or even use Gmails own app by pointing your phone browser to http://www.gmail.com/app
Personally I use the app as it maintains the interface and all the options like archiving, starring etc.
I have also set gmail as my outgoing mail client in the native email options though as I use that if I want to attach anything (the gmail mobile app can't do that).

Perhaps try setting "retrieval amount" to ALL. If you have it set to 50, and there's more than 50 emails in your inbox, it is probably just showing you the same first 50 over and over again. Set it to all and see whether it now does the rest too.
As mentioned above, unless you have an unlimited data plan allowance, you might want to set it to download message headers in the first instance and then you can individually select which ones you want to download in full.

This is a problem with Google, and it took me a very long time to suss.. Go into your Googlemail (i.e www.gmail.com) account and the settings, DISABLE the POP usage. Save your settings. Then go back in and re-enable it. It would appear you can only have a certain amount of messages stored on their POP servers.

Hey thanks dudes !! and sorry I did not replied earlier  Ok got it working as it should , I have also downloaded the Gmail app , and it all works great thanks dudes !! I really do appreciate this !!
One last question , so I will not have to start another thread , I am a long time Windows Mobile user , and we got skype and windows live mobile , and both are real easy to find and use , is there such thing for my Nokia N95-3 NAM ?? also is there a GPS app that will work with the internal GPS of my phone ?? I do not get why will they put a GPS if it does not work by itself :con?😮😡 thanks !!
Fring is fantastic for using Skype.
Garmin works well with the internal GPS, but also Nokia Maps (on your phone!) is pretty damn good too!

I mean it is only a picture of a car that I was sending to my friend , but what if it was an important client , or something work related , I need to be able to trust my phone in to doing a simple task like sending a mail , please dudes help a fellow N95-3 user . . . thanks !!
i use sky mail. which is powered by googlemail.
had to go into googlemail settings and force all emails to be forwarded.
also if you need access to your gmail labels using the default messaging app of the n95-3, dig around in options and email, then subscriptions and it will download all your labels.
to the OP, are you still having problems sending email outbound via wifi? all i do is type my mail, add any attachments, and press the GREEN send button and off it goes instantly. profimail might help since its way better than the regular app, and its native symbian app to boot.

Yes dude , I still have problems 😡 :frown: and it really is frustrating , I know you have said (on HoFo) to take it easy , but I changed from windows mobile into symbian , because I heard great things about symbian , and then I find this 😮 :con? I do not know about you , but if a phone can not send email on the go , is a deal breaker for me at least :frown: :icon13: I just dont know what to do anymore , I have deleted the already set up mail accounts , and re did all of them and nothng and I am following every single step in the gmail instructions , I am about to install profimail , will let you know how it goes ok ?? by the way to be sure that my WiFi router was not in fault for not sending email , I went to a friend house and still nothing 😡 😮 I can download just fine , but I just cant send a stupid freaking mail aaaarhhhgghh !!!
yeah i feel your frustration. but its not a fault of symbian per se. for you its your only symbian experience, so it sucks. but i just connected my gmail via wif thru my verizon FIOS router, and comopsed a test message and pressed sent, and it went right thru. so its definitely a specific problem with your phone rather than a general universal problem. one thing to try is change your email access point setting. does it pop up the list of networks when you press send? mine did, and i also have it set to ask upon the initial connection when i first check my mail. maybe this has something to do with it. meaning, if you have your home wifi selected as the default AP, maybe its causing some type of problem. temporarily change the access point to always ask just to test it out. i know you tried your friend's wifi with same results. dont know what else to try short of a factory reset which would prob solve your problem, but wipe all your data. remember symbian is a great OS for multimedia in a regular phone style environment. it doesnt quite have all the hacks of a WM phone. this is what myself and many others prefer, combined with installable apps. hope you get it figured out.
