A USB Bluetooth dongle for Windows PC?

4 replies · 2,730 views · Started 29 February 2008

Hello everyone, hope all is well.

I have an iMac at home, and this has bluetooth built in... Great, works great with my Nokia N95...

But I have a work computer that is windows... And it would be good to have a reliable (and hopefully cheap!) USB bluetooth dongle that I can put in the computer so I can transfer small files to my phone and also... would be cool... to use my new bluetooth headphones with my PC too.

Is there a dongle that would allow me to use both my mobile and my headphones on the computer? Do I need special software to get the bluetooth headphones working with my computer?

Any help would be great!
James

There are plenty more like it around the net. I use 3 different ones on my work pc, home machine and Car PC (where I use the one I linked) and they all work great.

As far as I know, you can't connect more than one device at a time though, maybe if you had two dongles?

Ive used a sitecom one I got off play.com about 5 years ago...

its totally battered and now held together with gaffer tape... but works a treat ! 😉

I use a motorolla one, i've had it two years and also works great.
As far as headphones go, you may need a seperate driver for the specific makes of headphones but i'm not 100% sure as I've never used headphones through usb.

The windows XP bluetooth driver works fine for my N95.

car PC cool, did you build that your self?

i have a really cheap one from ebuyer which cost like 4 quid
