Nokia has announced the launch of
a new S60 smartphone, the '6124 classic', in conjunction with Vodafone in most markets, calling it a 'compact multimedia device offering

I like the form factor much more than of the 6220 Classic. This is more classic.
This is basically a 6120 Classic to all intents and purposes (I know there are tiny differences). However, being Vodafone branded it will get an extra push from them, so that's good. And it's not being sold as a "smartphone" - good stuff!

Agreed, I'll be following this one with interest. This is quite a step in some ways - its shows real commitment from the operator towards S60. It also shows there's two branches. Nokia led service with Ovi and Operator led services. Both are S60 powered. Personally I think we'll probably end up with an amalgam of the two, but it shows how the platform is becoming commoditised.
