Nokia Lifeblog and Nokia Photos

Hey,

currently I'm using Nokia Lifeblog application. It's interesting and overall good application but kind of buggy. E.g. when I want to transfer pictures to the Flickr site under Lifeblog, this crappy app simply freeze. But I like it for its general idea, blogging life etc. Anyway, as I said it's crappy. Should I try Nokia Photos instead? Any suggestions? Which one is better?

I'm using Nokia Photos at the moment, as I moved over to NSeries PC Suite and it was pre-configured in it. Happy with it so far. Must admit though, I don't generally blog from it as I tend to use Share Online instead but the times I have it seems to work ok.

I've been using lifeblog since sept 06 and I've been ok with it. It's crashed a couple of times but is always ok once it's reloaded. I don't blog with it, but instead i just use it to backup my photos/videos/messages from my phone so I don't have to keep them all on there (and I can put them back on if I want).

Never tried, or even heard of, Nokia Photos though.

Oooh nice. Just wanna make sure: does this backup my texts & MMSs as well? If so, I might give it a go. Can my lifeblog data be transferred over as well?

Hi all,

Yes.. Nokia Photos is good application to backup your SMS Text messages/photos/Videos/notes etc.,,,, But beware before using one information i want to share with you all guys is that, if you have synhed some of your data with Nokia photos those files won't again get synched with Lifeblog and vice verse...So think before you switch, but Nokia Photos is also a cool application. I am not sure about MMS anyways..... If you want you can share your data from your mobile/Nokia Photos/Lifeblog to Flickr, you can do so ...:icon14:

To all intents and purposes, it is the same as LifeBlog. However, once you sync to Nokia Photos you can't then sync your data across to LifeBlog. It's one or the other, and I've yet to find a way to get historic data across from LifeBlog to NokiaPhotos.

(Superfluous Information - As this was posted from my N95, I regretted starting in Web, so I've now switched to Opera Mini. Much easier and quicker.)

Ah right. I'll stick with Lifeblog for the moment then. I think I'll email Nokia and see if they know how to port them over. If I get a promising response, I'll let ya's know here.

OK I've just downloaded Nokia Photos and I can (possibly) confirm that Lifeblog data CAN be transferred over to Photos.

When I started Photos for the first time, it said that data from a previous version of Lifeblog had not been imported and asked if I wanted it to import the data for me (and warned it might take a while). I said yes and so far it's transferred 1% of 7611 items.

I said possibly earlier because I don't know if it had anything to do with having Lifeblog open when I opened Photos, nor do I know what this will do to Lifeblog once the data's imported, and whether it will import the data correctly.

Once it's done I'll let ya's know. 😊

[UPDATE] Well, after waiting forever for the items to be imported, it then crashed showing the error "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" and then closes. It does this every time I load it up.
