Review on Nokia HS-46W

Just wanted to share my findings with this headset.

So far, I'm not impressed with it, as it has several serious shortcomings. I'll compare below, which might help people decide whether or not to buy this headset. Comparision is with Cellink BTHS-6025-F which has recently been getting static problems after about 20 mins operating, although I have a new spare which has the same problem - I might remove all BT devices and replace only the ones I still use, which might cure the problem.

Ear loop: very uncomfortable and insecure on the Nokia HS-46W. Cellink is much better in both respects, I cannot fathom how Nokia expect it to stay on your ear and I've tried it both ways, the hook at top position is the only way it works.

Voice dialling: Doesn't work at all on n73 unless there's a secret button sequence to do it. Cellink voice dials fine.

Button access: ok but not as positive as Cellink.

Other problem: beeps after every time directions are spoken by TomTom on my n73, very annoying feature. Cellink doesn't do this.

Good points: Very clear call quality and uses the standard Nokia phone charger (not the smaller n73 type though.) Cellink isn't as clear, but does use the Nokia charger via a small dongle which is nearly as handy.

Unless I can sort out the BT problem with my Cellink, I'll have to search again for a good headset that does at least all that the Cellink does. The Nokia HS-46W certainly doesn't cut it for me though, and I wouldn't recommend this headset as there must be better ones out there (the Cellink, if still available, being one) but probably not Nokia's as some of the problems above are likely to be generic. I'll drop another review by once I find one!
