Hi,
Has anyone figured out how to surf to the BBC web-site without being automatically directed to the WAP site? The best I could do was surf to the low graphics page which isn't bad but I want to look at it in its full glory - which I could do in on my old E70.
Regards,
Karl
The BBC is a fairly easy one,:
You create Bookmarks that go directly to the page you want and use them rather that just typing in www.bbc.co.uk
News is http://news.bbc.co.uk/default.stm
Sport is http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/
and the general BBC Homepage is http://www.bbc.co.uk/home/d/index.live.shtml
A much trickier one is the National Rail website which carefully ensures you can't get access to information on current engineering work if there's even the slightest chance you might be using a mobile phone.
To get round that problem I eventually shifted to using Opera Mini. Not an ideal solution at all but it did work.
Opera Mobile 9.5 for Symbian should have the option to identify your mobile as a pc, which will bypass these silly redirects.
Unfortunately no-one knows when it's coming out, although Opera announced its imminent release over a month ago....maybe there are few wrinkles to iron out. Needless to say it will be better than the built-in browser
