Possible to download Podcasts through Orange Internet

Not had my N95 8GB long but one of the features that really appeals is the ability to download podcasts directly to the device. Obviosuly over WLAN this is simple, however, I would like to download the odd one whilst out and about (e.g. away from WLAN).

My question: Orange Internet is called OW 30MB and costs 8. Does this mean after I have downloaded a single podcast of around 30MB I will be up to my monthly limit?

Do other people download podcasts in this way? Thanks for any pointers...

Yeah, if you are on the 30MB data plan it's probably a bad idea downloading large files such as podcasts over the Orange connection. Once you go over the 30MB allowance things can start getting expensive.

I download most of my podcasts over wifi at home, but I do have the 5 a month unlimited evenings and weekends data plan, so occasionally I do use Orange to download them in the evening too if I'm nowhere near wifi.

I have t-mobile with web'n'walk so I get unlimited data. I regularly download podcasts over it including video and long radio podcasts of 30Mb+

It is entriely down to data allowance really, it is entirely possible from a technical standpoint

Unfortunatly, Orange is the worst network for Data Usage.

I'm with them and i'm on the Unlimited Evening And Weekends package for £6 (randomfan says it's £5 though, i may be wrong)

When i upgrade (probably december or whenever a decent enough phone comes out) i doubt it'll be with Orange.

Pants, I've just taken out another 18 month contract with them too 😞

randomfan - out of curiosity - with the 5 a month/1000MB Orange one - what do you get charges for data usage in the day (viewing web pages/picking up mail etc)? Are there details anywhere online?

Day time usage is 1.50 per MB (so 1.5p for 10KB, for example), but capped at 1.50 per day so even if you use 100MB in a day you should still only get billed 1.50 for that day.

OK, thanks for that info - looks like that's the option I'll go for then. Last question - is evening defined as 7pm to 7am?

Yup, that's my understanding too; and weekend is Friday 7pm to Monday 7am.

I just spoke to them - definitely 7am - 7pm - weekend is 7pm Friday to 7am Monday. 1000MB limit, 5 a month.

Well - what a joke - got the internet bundle and it turns out there is no 3G coverage where I live (CW12) on Orange. Super!

Anyone know how difficult it is to get out of an upgrade contract after 2 weeks? I'm already wishing I'd given 3 a try instead...
