Well i got off the phone earlier to somebody at 3 after arranging my phone to be taken away to get flashed with the latest firmware (v20).
Even though the Nokia website says that the latest version for my phone (3 branded) is v12, i have got confirmation from 3 and a 'Trusted Nokia Warranty' shop that the v20 firmware is indeed available to people with 3 branded phones.
So I've got somebody arriving tomorrow to pick my phone up to do this for me and I will receive it back on Friday, as long as nothing serious has gone wrong with it.
I will let everybody on here know what has happened.

Fair dos - Its easy enough to do your self though, would take you all ove 30 mins rather than sending it away.
I did mine today, it took 20mins including backing everything up, it really is simple.
Plug the phone in, open the nokia pc suite and click pc suite on the phone.
Go to content copier and back up.
Go to software updater and click update, it will download a 120mb file and update it.
Go to content copier and restore.
voila
keep us posted on how it goes.
I allready have the generic nokia v.20 on my n95
but would be interested to see how the 3 branded fw fares..

just tried to update and it says my 3 8gb model is up to date with the v11 firmware

yea... on the nokia updating site it says the latest version for my phone is v12, even though 3 and other places said it was v20.
I'm on 3 and its not showing any updates available. I'm running V 11.0.026
Will be interesting to see the outcome, someone was told something similar and last minute 3 admitted they were incorrect. Currently 3UK has no branded v20, although 3aus do.
I ended up changing my product code and flasing with generic v20 - is so much better than v12
I got fed up with V12 or v11 whatever it was and went the NSS product change route about 2 months ago . I'm glad I did.
Follow the instructions on the sticky thread at the top of the page - you won't regret it.😊

I think you guys are talking about N95-8gb .
I think this thread is for N95-1.
Two different phones dont try putting the N95-1 software in a N95-8 gb or the other way round unless you want a shiny paperweight for your desk.😮

Well i just got my phone back from 3 and guess what..... v12.
I don't understand how they can tell me one thing and do something defferent you know?
well I'm just about to get on the phone to them and get to the source of the problem. Maybe see if i can get any compensation for my new phone being taken away from me, so i can't take advantage of all the features! 😊
