Can anyone help me please. No-one else seems to be able to.
I used to have the N95 and have just upgraded to the 8gb. When trying to assign ringtones to seperate contacts, I have to go through the whole list of my music to find the file I want.
With my music on the phone at the 2,000 mark now, it takes forever as I can only hold down or up and scroll to the track. There is no option to type letters to jump to the correct track as you can in the music player.
All my music is on the mass memory and the ringtones are all on the phone memory, but there doesn't appear to be an option to only show phone memory for the ringtones.
Any help is greatly appreciated
As far as I know there is no option at all to check just one storage space at a time.
I've just checked my N95 cos I thought maybe there was a way of setting a ringtone to a contact via the Music Player. Unfortunately it's just to set it as the ringtone for your currently active profile. :frown:
If this is just a one time process, then connect the memory card to your computer, move all the ones you don't need to the computer hard drive temporarily leaving only songs you want to assign. Go back to the phone to do all the assignments, then move all the songs from computer back to your memory card.
What I did was prefix each file I wanted to use as a ringtone or message alert with "Phone - ". That way, they're all listed together. I suppose you could do something similar by adding "000" or something at the beginning so it lists them at the top all the time.
