My P990i is slowly dying.
1. I can't turn the alarm off. It will, no matter what I do, go off at a certain time during the day
2. I can't reply to text messages. Instead I have to create a new message and send it
3. I can't receive text messages, unless I restart the phone, and then on again. Then I receive all the messages which have been sent since I last restarted the phone.
I've tried to download the newest firmware version and installed it, but the problem persists.
I've called a Sony Ericsson repair center, and they told me that they would need to install new software on the mobile phone (and I would have to pay a fair amount of money for this).
Is it really not possible for me to download and install this software myself?
(not according to the SE repair center, but perhaps they're lying and just want to earn the money).
